Shabbir Hossain

Dr. Shabbir Hossain (pronounced “Sha-BEER HO-sane”) has been practicing since 2005, with a focus on General Internal Medicine and clinical interests in a variety of areas: preventative health, women’s and men’s health, diabetes, obesity, medication safety, and chronic disease management. Dr. Hossain completed his undergraduate study of biology at New York University in New York City, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He attended medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, and completed his residency at Drexel University College of Medicine, Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), Shabbir also belongs to the American College of Physicians (ACP) and Texas Medical Association (TMA). Other highlights of Dr. Hossain’s career include an assistant professorship at SUNY Stony Brook, where he was co-program director of the Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program. He also served as faculty and residency Clinical Medical Director at UT Southwestern Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, and as Regional Medical Director of Envision Physician Services in Dallas. He is fluent in Bengali. Married and a father to three children, Shabbir loves to travel and play video games. A self-professed sci-fi geek and sports fan, he cheers for Star Wars and Marvel Movies, and the Mets, Knicks and Giants teams, respectively.
