About

Richard Male Jr.

Dr. Richard C. Male, Jr., DO, has been practicing since 1992, with a focus on family medicine. He cares for patients of all ages, from infants to older adults. Dr. Male practices in a comprehensive, holistic style, taking body, mind, and spirit into account when recommending a treatment plan. Personable and easy to talk to, he welcomes open discussion and brings genuine sincerity to improving each patient's health, along with the patience to help them get there. Dr. Male earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from Texas Tech University in 1982 and his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, in 1989. He completed his residency at Memorial Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is board-certified by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons and has a clinical interest in maximizing fitness and healthy eating. Since 2009, Dr. Male has also served as a volunteer with the Texas State Guard, where he holds the rank of Colonel and serves as Texas State Guard Surgeon. Dr. Male lives the fitness-focused philosophy he shares with patients, keeping up his cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, and balance through aerobic activity, resistance training, yoga, and floor exercises. A proud sixth-generation Texan, he and his wife run a small cow-calf ranching operation in Coleman County, on land that has been in the family close to 50 years, where he takes pride in being a good steward of the land. In his spare time, he enjoys playing guitar, hunting and fishing, spending time outdoors, and, above all, being with his wife and staying close with family.
