Martin Nejat

Martin Nejat (pronounced “Mar tin/Ne jot”), MD, is devoted to his patients’ wellbeing. Unique among primary care doctors, Dr. Nejat is adept at patient management in both the outpatient clinic and hospital setting including intensive care unit. Additionally he has experience in long-term acute care, acute rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities. He applies this broad clinical experience to the benefit of his patients as he guides them through today's complex healthcare system with particular focus on value added primary care. Since starting his practice in 2012, Dr. Nejat’s clinical interest include care of older adults and the management of diabetes, obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular disease, sepsis, and chronic kidney disease. He believes the best clinical outcomes are achieved through prevention, treating the root cause of medical problems, and holistic approach to patient management. Dr. Nejat grew up in San Antonio and attended Health Careers High School. He earned his undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at Austin. He then attended the Ross University School of Medicine and completed residency at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He is board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). When he is not helping patients, Dr. Nejat enjoys biking, CrossFit, chess, reading, cooking, and gardening. He is fluent in Persian and conversational in Spanish.
