About

Irina Dimitrova

Dr. Irina Dimitrova is a third-generation internist who puts her clients at the center of care, helping them set realistic and achievable health goals. She strives to be a physician who listens and offers evidence-based recommendations that align with the person’s priorities and values. She has spent her career as a hospitalist, so she is experienced in managing multiple acute health conditions. Dr. Dimitrova has been active in several areas of medical research during her time as a hospitalist and has been involved with medical education, first at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and more recently overseeing interns from the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School’s Department of Neurology. While still in New York, she helped develop and implement system-wide quality improvement initiatives throughout New York City’s 11 public hospitals to reduce wasteful testing and hospital-acquired infections. As she guides her primary care clients to achieve their health goals, she, too, sets personal wellness goals such as regular exercise and healthy eating. It is especially important to her to role model healthy lifestyle choices for her two young children. She enjoys trying new Central Texas restaurants, taking walks in her neighborhood with her family, and exploring local parks.
