About
Deborah Melendez
Dr. Deborah Melendez is board-certified in Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine and is committed to creating a welcoming, supportive environment for every person in her care. A compassionate and attentive listener, she takes a proactive approach to health by helping individuals set realistic, sustainable goals that support long-term wellness. With over 20 years of experience in both clinic settings and telemedicine, she has cared for underserved communities and geriatric populations, and has a special interest in obesity medicine, diabetes, hypertension, and women’s health. As a proud and experienced primary care physician, Deborah values strong partnerships with her patients. She works collaboratively to coordinate care across specialties and always keeps her patients at the center of the health team. She regularly incorporates evidence-based lifestyle medicine into appointments and has witnessed firsthand how even small changes in daily habits can lead to significant improvements in health and quality of life. Deborah enjoys connecting with patients by sharing aspects of her own health journey, which includes eating a mostly plant-based diet, staying physically active, prioritizing sleep, and maintaining close ties with family, friends, and her faith community. She has completed three half-marathons, one full marathon, and participated in several MS 150 bike rides. A former college athlete, she still prefers walking dates over coffee dates and loves any excuse to get outside. When not seeing patients, she enjoys traveling, trying new plant-based recipes, and spending quality time with her husband and teen daughter.
