About

Sonia Durairaj

Dr. Sonia Durairaj does not do all of the talking when she cares for someone. Instead, she strives to create an environment where people are comfortable sharing their health goals and concerns in two-way open communication. She focuses on a preventative approach to care, hoping to stop illness before it ever starts. Dr. Durairaj is a Certified Menopause Practitioner (North American Menopause Society) and knows the importance of understanding midlife transitions in the women she treats. She is also an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. As she encourages people in her care to adopt healthy habits, she plans time for healthy habits of her own. She aims to get the daily recommended number of steps by walking her dogs, prioritizes a good night's sleep, and schedules time to spend with her family and friends. Dr. Durairaj intentionally makes time for herself as well, and you’ll often find her reading a good book or playing the guitar and singing.
